MERRIMACK VILLAGE DISTRICT FLUSHING

The Merrimack Village District will be flushing mainlines and hydrants in the following areas beginning Monday, July 6, 2009 through Friday, July 10, 2009:

Amherst Road Dirt Road Nora Road
Arbor Street Douglas Street Northwood Drive
Beech Street Dunbarton Drive Park Ave
Bigwood Drive Forsythia Lane Peter Road
Bon Ave Gail Road Piedmont Ave
Cambridge Drive Hampstead Road Railroad Ave
Camp Sargent Road Heidi Lane Riverside Drive
Candy Lane Hoyt Street Sarah Drive
Castleton Court Ingham Road Sherwood Lane
Cavalier Estates Jay Road Spruce Street

Streets in the vicinity of the above mentioned areas may also be affected.

Flushing will occur between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday - Friday.
Flushing is done to maintain water quality throughout our distribution system. This program involves opening flushing valves to create increased water flows, which dislodge and clean out naturally occurring sedimentation in the pipelines. It may cause minor flooding of streets and slight discoloration of water and/or a short period of low pressure. Areas surrounding these streets may also experience water discoloration. The Merrimack Village District would like to reassure customers that the water is safe to drink and any discoloration should clear up in 2 – 3 hours.

Residential customers with special water needs for medical reasons are urged to call the District office at 424-9241
X 100 so they can be notified in advance of flushing in their area.
