Field Staff

MVD has two Field Staff departments; Treatment and Distribution.
Both departments perform a variety of duties to maintain and distribute the water supply. 

MVD’s Water Treatment Department handles a broad range of responsibilities, including water treatment process as well as the operation and maintenance of all pumping equipment. Treatment staff also utilizes MVD’s advanced computerized monitoring systems to ensure optimal water chemistry and continuously monitor the performance of each pump station and water treatment facility. MVD’s Water treated according to national standards required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as well as the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services’ Drinking Water and Groundwater Bureau to ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).  MVD’s Water Treatment Staff ensures these standards are met to provide the highest water quality possible for our customers. 

MVD’s Water Distribution Department is responsible for operations and maintenance of the MVD’s infrastructure that provides water to residential, commercial, & industrial locations, as well as for the system’s fire protection services. Some of these tasks include the Water Leak Detection Program, Water Meter Replacement/Exchange Program, Water Flushing & Valve Exercising Programs, the Backflow Prevention Program, Lead Service Line Inspections for MVD’s WLSP as well as meter readings.
